Card Reader Offline (Cantaloupe)

Why is my credit card reader not accepting payments? Error Message "Cards Offline by Vendor"

As a FoodSpot operator, you rely on two connections:

  • FoodSpot Connection - this allows the fridge to lock/unlock and send data to your dashboard.

  • Cantaloupe Connection - this allows your microstore to accept payments (for Cantaloupe-FoodSpot operators only).

If your fridge is not unlocking, it could be caused by either of these connections going down.

If you see the message "Cards Offline by Vendor" or a blank screen, your Cantaloupe connection is offline. Call Cantaloupe customer support at (888) 561-4748. If you are a campus, call (501) 267-5303. Have your ePort serial number ready. You can find this serial number on the telemeter at the top right of your control box (see below).

If your reader cycles between "Swipe to Unlock," "Grab Your Food," and "Enjoy Your Day", then your FoodSpot connection is offline and you should follow these instructions.
