How do I add a new product to the dashboard? / Add a food item.

Every product you sell out of your microstore needs to be added to the dashboard.

Dashboard Tab: Product

  1. Click on the Product tab of your dashboard.

  2. Click the “Create” button on the top right of the screen

  3. You will be taken to the product creation screen:

  4. Fill out the following required fields

    1. Name - The name you want your product to appear as on your dashboard.

    2. Type - Snacks, Food, Drinks, or Misc. These categories determine how your products are displayed in your sales charts on your dashboard. If you have purchased a consumer smartphone app, this determines how your products are organized in the app.

    3. Final Price - Your desired sales price of the product. Our system does not calculate tax. If you charge sales tax, please include in this price. NOTE: If you wish to offer a discount later, do not change the price here, rather, see instructions for offering a promotion.

    4. Expired After - As soon as an item is stocked into your fridge, the system begins counting down to its expiration based on what you enter here. From the drop-down menu, set the terms of the item’s expiration:

      1. Using Days and Hour ( i.e. 4 days)

      2. Using Date and Time (i.e. September 4, 2025) - NOTE: for this expiration scheme, you will need to re-enter a date every time you scan a new batch of this product into the system. For shelf-stable items, we suggest selecting an arbitrary date far into the future.

      3. End of Next Day

    5. Date: Enter the expiration date or period in the field below.

📱 Operators with a Consumer Smartphone App:

The following fields are provided to offer greater detail to your customers:

  • Description: The description of the product your customers will read in the app

  • Image: This photograph will be viewable by your customer. For food photography tips, please see our guide.

Optional Fields

  • Category - Some operators may wish to view sales data deeper level by creating custom categories for their products (i.e. Breakfast, Sandwiches, Salads). Custom categories can be created on the main screen of the “Product” tab by clicking “New Category” on the top right.

  • Suggested Price - suggested MSRP set by vendor (if applicable)

4. Hit “Submit” to save your Product. NOTE: a product cannot be scanned until it is submitted.
