Adding Products to Your Dashboard

How do I add a new product to the dashboard? / Add a food item.

Every product you sell out of your microstore needs to be added to the dashboard. Once you add this product, it lives in your system and does not need to be added again. You can always delete products or edit details (i.e. price) later. Add products to your dashboard now by following the instructions below.

  1. Click on the Products

  2. Click the “Create” button on the top right of the screen

  3. You will be taken to the product creation screen:

  4. Fill out the following required fields

    • Name - The name you want your product to appear as on your dashboard.

    • Type - Snacks, Food, Drinks, or Misc. These categories determine how your products are displayed in your sales charts on your dashboard. If you have purchased a consumer smartphone app, this determines how your products are organized in the app.

    • Suggested Price - suggested MSRP set by vendor (if applicable). Most operators enter the Final Price amount here.

    • Final Price - Your desired sales price of the product. Our system does not calculate tax. If you charge sales tax, please include in this price. 

    • Expired After - As soon as an item is stocked into your fridge, the system begins counting down to its expiration based on what you enter here. From the drop-down menu, set the terms of the item’s expiration:

      1. Using Days and Hours ( i.e. 4 days) - this is the recommended option because you only need to set it once. For shelf-stable items, we suggest selecting an arbitrarily long time period

      2. Using Date and Time (i.e. September 4, 2025) - NOTE: for this expiration scheme, you will need to re-enter a date every time you scan a new batch of this product into the system.

      3. End of Next Day

       
  5. Click Submit to save the product

Optional Fields

  • Category - Some operators may wish to view sales data deeper level by creating custom categories for their products (i.e. Breakfast, Sandwiches, Salads). Custom categories can be created on the main screen of the “Product” tab by clicking “New Category” on the top right.

Go ahead and add products to your dashboard now. If you need to make changes to price and expiration dates later, that's okay!
